On October 9, 1926, defendant’s motor truck violently collided with a street railway car in the City of Philadelphia in which plaintiff was a passenger. By the force of the impact he was thrown to the floor of the car and subsequently brought suit to recover compensation for the resulting personal injuries, charging carelessness and negligence in the operation and control of the truck by the driver, defendant’s employee. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff in the sum of $20,000, and the appeal here is from the refusal of the court below to grant a new trial.…
