The Policemen’s Benevolent Association of Chicago filed a bill of interpleader, alleging that Edward Strum was a member of the society, receiving a benefit certificate of membership in which his wife, Maggie B. Strum, was named as beneficiary for the sum of $2,000; that Mrs Strum subsequently died and after-wards on application of Edward Strum a new certificate was issued in which Etta A.
