In April, 1934, the defendant shipped two cars of cabbage from Amaudville, St. Landry Parish, consigned to P. G. Sackenreu-ther, advise Tom Ayoob Company, Pitts-burg, Pennsylvania. Bills of lading were issued by the initial carrier for these two cars, on the back of which bills of lading is printed in small type a provision to the effect that, “The consignor shall be liable for the freight and all other lawful charges, except that if the consignor stipulates, by signature, in the space provided for that purpose on the face of this bill of lading that the carrier shall not make…
