Chapman v. Hoyt
Supreme Court of Missouri
1Opinion of the Court
HENLEY, Judge.
This case presents the question of whether the provision of § 49.010, RSMo 1969 1 requiring that the division of a county into two county court districts be made “without dividing municipal townships” violates the constitutions of the United States and the State of Missouri in that it prevents division into districts “as near equal in population as practicable” and results in dilution of the weight of the vote of residents of one district contrary to their rights under the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and Mo.Const. Art. I, § 2.
