COOPER, Justice.

Following a trial by jury in the Campbell Circuit Court, Appellant Mark Johnson was convicted of arson in the first degree. He waived the sentencing phase of the trial and was subsequently ■ sentenced to twenty years in prison. He appeals to this Court as a matter of right. Ky. Const. § 110(2)(b). We have determined that the appeal was prematurely filed and must be remanded for a ruling on Appellant’s post-trial motions and for an evidentiary hearing on the issue of his competency to stand trial.
