The indictment charged the defendant with having feloniously stolen, taken, and carried away a case of shoes of the value of $35, and seventeen pairs of shoes of the value of $3 each pair, of the goods, chattels, and personal property of a certain corporation, called the Bay State Shoe & Leather Company.
