On the 14th of September, 1846, J. B. Rathbone Sf Co., of New Orleans, brought suit against the captain and owners of the ship London for damages on account of the detention of merchandise on a voyage between Boston and this port. The suit was commenced by attachment, and the ship was taken possession of under the process of the court, and afterwards released on the bond given by the captain in behalf of himself and the owners, with Green and Brother, of New Orleans, as their sureties.
