Claimant brings this action under the provisions of Chap. 23, Par. 372a, Ill. Rev. Stats., (1953 State Bar Association Edition), to recover damages to his 1951 International % ton pick-up truck caused by Cecil Swizart, an inmate of the Jacksonville State Hospital, Jacksonville, Illinois, a charitable institution under the direction and control of respondent. Swizart escaped from said institution, and while at liberty stole said motor vehicle belonging to claimant.
