Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court (Harris, J.), entered August 7, 1991 in Ulster County, which granted certain defendants’ motions for summary judgment dismissing the complaint against them.
The two actions involved in this appeal allege malpractice, arising out of the labor and delivery of plaintiff James Kakoullis, Jr. at Benedictine Hospital in Ulster County on Janu*770ary 16, 1980. Action No. 1 seeks to recover damages for the pain and suffering plaintiff Michele Kakoullis (hereinafter plaintiff) experienced during a prolonged and difficult labor during the birth of her son.…
