A judgment of the circuit court of Will county awarded the plaintiffs, seventy members of the police and fire departments of the city of Joliet, the respective differences between the salaries paid them for the period commencing July 13, 1937, and ending January 31, 1941, and the minimum salaries of $175 per month prescribed by the Policemen’s Minimum Wage act and the Firemen’s Minimum Wage act. The .judgment in favor of seven plaintiffs included the amount claimed as salaries during a thirty-day period in January, 1941, during which they were laid off pursuant to a resolution of the city…
