Appellant Lorenzo Brown was appointed to fill a vacancy in the board of trustees of the Dallas Independent School District for trustee district number five. Appellees Dwight Patterson and R. B. Brown brought separate suits to prevent him from taking office on the ground that appellant had not been a resident of trustee district number five for six months immediately preceding his appointment.
