MEMORANDUM AND ORDER
CROW, District Judge.
On July 31,1993, Randy David Richardson commenced this action against the defendants alleging that on July 31, 1991, he was severely injured when a tire and rim assembly exploded and struck him. Richardson’s complaint alleges, inter alia, that the tire involved in the explosion, a 14.9 Alliance Brand tubeless-type tire, was designed, manufactured, distributed, marketed and sold by the defendant Alliance Tire and Rubber, (U.S.A.), Inc.
