The Chancellor.

The bill presents a matter of great interest to the City of Wilmington. It touches, in certain particulars, the creation of a municipal fire department for the city in lieu of the old system of supplying fire protection to the city through the agency of volunteer companies. The court is most reluctant to interpose its extraordinary powers in a way that will interfere with the progress of the work of the Department of Public Safety in its endeavor to carry out the provisions of the act creating it.
