At the February term, 18'76, of the Vermilion circuit court, the people of this State, on the relation of the Paris and Dan-ville Railroad Company, a body politic and corporate under a law of this State, presented a petition to the court, praying that a peremptory writ of mandamus be awarded against the supervisor and town cleric of the town of Danville, in said county, commanding them to make a subscription of twenty-five thousand dollars to the capital stock of that incorporation, and to issue bonds of that township for that amount, in accordance with the provisions of the act of…
