This is an original proceeding having i for its purpose the obtaining from this court an exposition of our statutes upon the subject of paroles, and when and by whom paroles may be granted.

On December 14, 1924, in the superior court of Maricopa county, Arizona, Honorable M. T. Phelps presiding, one Jimmie Douglas, having theretofore pleaded guilty of the crime of grand larceny, was sentenced to imprisonment in the state prison at Florence, Arizona, for a term of not less than one, nor more than two, years.
