This is a suit based upon certain interest coupons aggregating $156.25. The petition alleges that under date of February 15, 1927, defendant mortgaged to the Mortgage & Securities Co. of New Orleans, certain property located in the city of New Orleans, as security for a loan of $65,000, represented by sixty-five promissory notes of $1,000 each, payable to bearer at the office of the Mortgage & Securities Company; that interest on said notes, at the rate of 6% per cent per annum, was represented by 951 interest coupons payable semi-annually on the first day of February and the first day of…
