¶1. Jose DeJesus Fuentes petitions this court for a writ of habeas corpus following the court of appeals' conclusion that it was powerless to afford Fuentes relief from the effects of its clerical error. Fuentes contends that the court of appeals' clerical error violated his statutory right to petition this court for review of his conviction, depriving him of the effective assistance of counsel.
