In an action, inter alia, to recover damages for defamation, unpaid pension benefits, unpaid severance benefits, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the defendants appeal from an order of the Supreme Court, Nassau County (Carter, J.), entered December 1, 2000, which denied their motion to dismiss the complaint *489pursuant to CPLR 3211 (a) (7) for failure to state a cause of action.

Ordered that the order is modified, on the law, by deleting the provision thereof denying those branches of the defendants’ motion which were to dismiss the fourth, fifth, and seventh causes of action,…
