In this case we are confronted with an “appeal” from a “Final Judgment in Favor of Defendant” signed on September 20, 2007, by one James E. Glatt, Jr., apparently acting as a General Magistrate, although that capacity is not designated on the face of the document. This “judgment” was issued by Magistrate Glatt after he entered a directed verdict at the conclusion of the plaintiff’s case in a jury trial involving an action for slander.
