This suit was instituted for the recovery of certain slaves alleged to belong to .the succession of Claudius Gibson, and for damages for their .qaption and detention. William Hunt and A.S. Robertson are made defendants, .and the sum of four thousand dollars is sought.to be recovered from them, in .solido, being the alleged value of the hire of the slaves, since March 26th, 1842, the time of the taking possession of .the slaves by the defendants.
