The defendant was convicted of murder and sentenced to a term of twenty years. She appealed to the Supreme Court, which transferred the cause to this court for decision.

The defendant had been residing for some time with one James Walker, for whom she worked as a harlot. May 19, 1961, was the defendant’s birthday, and a party was held in honor of the occasion at the apartment in Rockford which she occupied with Walker.
