The action was trespass vi et armis for taking and carrying away the plaintiff’s cows. On the trial it was proved or admitted that the collector of taxes for the north parish in Harwich had taken the cows as a distress, under a warrant issued by the defendants as assessors of that parish, for the plaintiff’s refusal to pay his parish taxes assessed by…
