| ]This is an election contest. G. Wesley Horton, an elector in the Town of Jones-boro, filed a challenge to the candidacy of Roger Dale Curry for the position of Chief of Police of the Town of Jonesboro, Louisiana. Horton, who is currently the Chief of Police and also a candidate for that office in the upcoming election, alleged in his petition that Curry cannot meet the qualifications for the office because he is a convicted felon. After trial, the district court determined that Curry was not qualified as a candidate and ordered that his name be removed from the ballot. Curry now appeals;…
