After a trial to a jury, the defendant Kelly Moye was convicted of arson in the second degree in violation of General Statutes (Rev. to 1981) § 53a-112 (a),1 and of conspiracy to commit arson in the *391second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-48 (a).2 He was sentenced by the court to serve concurrent terms of imprisonment for a total effective sentence of not less than two and one-half years nor more than five years.
