ELY, Circuit Judge:

While a deserter from the Marine Corps, Taylor was convicted of transporting a stolen vehicle in interstate commerce. 18 U.S.C. § 2312. The district judge placed Taylor on probation for eleven months and ordered him released into the custody' of the Marine Corps. In addition to the ordinary conditions of probation, such as refraining from the violation of any federal, state, or local law, notifying the probation officer if arrested, and not leaving the jurisdiction without permission of the probation officer, the judge inserted the condition that if Taylor were released…
