MeAULIFFE, Judge.

Shortly before midnight on 9 September 1986, someone shot and killed Michael Bueino in the parking lot of the 602 Club in Laurel, Maryland. Jeffrey Sims claims that he was not present and did not shoot Bueino, but a jury in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County found to the contrary and convicted him of murder in the second degree. Sims does not contest the sufficiency of the evidence to support the jury’s finding, but contends that the trial judge erred in refusing to instruct the jury concerning voluntary manslaughter.
