Bath Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. (hereinafter BVFD) is a Type B not-for-profit fire corporation located in Steuben County and organized pursuant to N-PCL 1402 (b) for the stated purpose of “maintaining] a fire fighting and rescue unit to protect the Village of Bath and other contracted fire districts outside the Village.” Each year BVFD enters into a service agreement with the Village to provide fire protection and emergency services to residents of the relevant fire districts.
