MAYNARD, Justice:

This case is before this Court upon appeal of a final order of the Circuit Court of Kana-wha County entered on January 22, 1998. Pursuant to that order, the circuit court sentenced the appellant, Dewaine C. King, to life without mercy for kidnapping and a term of 84 years for aggravated robbery. The sentences are to be served concurrently in the Mount Olive Correctional Complex. In this appeal, the appellant contends that the circuit court erred by not holding a hearing to consider his Rule 35 motion to reduce his sentences. He further maintains that the circuit court was…
