OPINION
BISSETT, Justice.
This is an automobile collision case. Phyllis Braddoek, Odester Castleman, and Lester Castleman, sued Juan Hernandez and Kevin Smith, and their employers, Gen*361eral Electric Co. and Reliable Batteries Co., respectively, for injuries received when the plaintiffs’ automobile was struck by two trucks, one driven by Hernandez and the other by Smith. The accident occurred on February 7, 1977. The trial commenced on February 4, 1981. The case was tried to a jury which answered special issues favorably to the plaintiffs.
