Charles Atterberry worked as an automobile detailer for Greater Mobile Chrysler-Jeep, Inc. (“the employer”), 1 from April 2005 until he was hospitalized on February 18, 2007, suffering from severe respiratory distress. During the time that Atterberry worked for the employer, he used several detergents and cleaning products containing toxic chemicals, including sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, 2-butoxyethanol, and sodium hydroxide.
