¶ 1. In 2010, Sheral Smith pleaded guilty in the Rankin County Circuit Court to four counts of statutory rape. After plea negotiations, the State recommended that Smith be sentenced on each count to twenty years, with thirteen years suspended and seven years to serve, with the sentences to run concurrently, all in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
