Background
This action was commenced on December 19, 1994, when the plaintiffs, David Woodzic-ka (“Woodzicka”) and Jason Nelson (“Nelson”), filed a complaint in this district asserting a host of claims against the defendant, Artifex Limited (“Artifex”). The plaintiffs’ claims stem from each of them having allegedly incurred damages from the spinal fixa tion systems utilizing pedicle screws, which were implanted posteriorly into the vertebrae of their spines.
