In a child custody proceeding pursuant to Family Court Act article 6, the mother appeals from an order of the Family Court, *661Kings County (Hepner, J.), dated August 16, 2006, which dismissed, without a hearing, her petition to modify an order of custody and visitation dated April 11, 2006.
