REAVLEY, Circuit Judge:

Marilyn Wilson contends that officials of the University of Texas Health Center (UTHC) demoted and discharged her from her position as a sergeant in retaliation for her reports of sexual harassment within the UTHC police force. At the close of Wilson’s case-in-chief, the district court granted all defendants a directed verdict on Wilson’s First Amendment and due process claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and on her defamation claim under Texas law. After considering both sides’ evidence, the district court entered judgment against Wilson on her claim under 42 U.S.C. § 2000e…
