This is a suit commenced by the appellee against the appellant in the court below for conversion of a quantity of cotton seed meal on which the appellee claimed to have a mortgage. The case was tried, before the court without a jury, upon substantially the following facts: The Jefferson Cotton Oil & Fertilizer Company, a private corporation, was in September, 1913, engaged in the business of buying cotton seed and manufacturing same into oil, meal, and hulls.
