The Grand Rapids Parlor Furniture Company, in November, 1890, was a corporation engaged in the manufacture of parlor furniture in Grand Rapids, having an authorized capital of $50,000, with $21,000 paid in. William J. Long, Jr., defendant’s brother, was president, and defendant was secretary and treasurer, of the corporation. The company, prior to November, 1890, had been engaged in the wholesale business exclusively, and had its place of business on the west side of Grand river.
