Brian C. Smith (“the father”) and N. Laquetta Smith (“the mother”) have been before this court on three previous occasions. See Smith v. Smith, 836 So.2d 893 (Ala.Civ.App.2002); Smith v. Smith, 866 So.2d 588 (Ala.Civ.App.2003); and Smith v. Smith, 928 So.2d 287 (Ala.Civ.App.2005).

In May 2009, the mother filed a modification petition in which she sought, in pertinent part, an award of postminority support for the parties’ daughter, who was a minor at the time the petition was filed. The trial court conducted an ore tenus hearing and, on October 12, 2010, entered a…
