SENTENCING MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

I. INTRODUCTION

On September 19, 2017, this Court sentenced Defendant Melissa Marie Cox to a sixty-month term of probation. This memorandum explicates the Court’s analysis and reasoning for the sentence.

This Court is tasked with crafting a “sentence sufficient, but not greater than necessary.” 18 U.S.C. § 3553(a). In doing so, the Court must consider “the nature and circumstances of the offense and the history and characteristics of the defendant.” Id. § 8668(a)(1).
