On the 16th August, 1887, J. Evans Brown a citizen of New Zea-land, and William B. Carter, a citizen of Tennessee, filed their bill of complaint in the circuit court of the United States for the said district, against the Cranberry Iron & Coal Company, a body corporate under the laws of the state of North Carolina.
