I,Kenneth Lewis appeals his conviction and sentence for simple possession of cocaine, attacking the trial court’s denial of his motions to suppress the evidence and statements. For reasons that follow, we affirm the appellant’s conviction and sentence.

The State of Louisiana charged Kenneth Lewis on December 28, 2011, with one count of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, a violation of La. R.S. 40:967 B, a charge to which he subsequently pled not guilty.1 The court heard and denied Lewis’ motions to suppress the evidence and statements on June 1, 2012.…
