Hinman, J.:

This is a negligence action arising out of the collision of two automobiles driven respectively by the plaintiff and the defendant. The accident happened on a State highway running easterly from the village of Monticello, Sullivan county, toward Middletown. The theory of the plaintiff, who received a verdict at the direction of the court, was that as she was driving “easterly toward Middle-town on this highway, the defendant, driving in the opposite direction, occupied the wrong side of the road and drove into her car..
