On the 5th of November, 1889, Eobert Stothard purchased a farm, known as the “Bonnie Doon,” from L. H. Howard, agent for some absent owners, for the price of three thousand and fifty dollars ($3,050), for which he paid in cash only twenty-five dollars ($25), the balance being payable in three instalments, represented by promissory notes secured by special mortgage and vendor’s privilege, to-wit: nine hundred and seventy-five dollars ($975) in two notes, payable January 1st, 1890; one thousand dollars ($1,000)…
