This is a negligénce action growing out of a collision in which an automobile driven by plaintiff ran into the rear left corner of defendant’s tractor trailer truck.

There was a verdict and judgment of $2,500 for plaintiff. Defendant appeals.

The collision happened on December 8, 1940, about 3:00 a. m., on TI. S. Route 66, about one and one-half miles north of the city limits of Springfield, Illinois, at a point estimated at one-half block to 100 feet south of the top of a hill known as “Portuguese Hill.” Both vehicles had been proceeding southerly.
