Every dog has its day. However, when the rights of dogs come into conflict with the rights of man, issues are posed which polarize society, engage the noblest and the basest passions of mankind, and set brother against brother. As this court has had occasion to observe upon a previous occasion in Rubenstein v Mayhew (NYLJ, Nov. 23, 1971, p 2, cols 2-3): "All mankind is divided into three parts.
