CARTER, Justice.

This appeal arises from a contested divorce action. The plaintiff-wife appeals from two orders entered by the Superior Court (Cumberland County). We vacate the judgment of the Superior Court, and remand for further proceedings.

The history of this case displays a complex and bitter marital struggle, which has been carried on in the Maine courts for nearly six years. The wife filed a complaint for divorce, on grounds of cruel and abusive treatment, in October 1975.
