SNELL, Justice.
Defendant, Duane Russell Conroy, appeals Ms conviction for reckless use of a firearm in violation of Iowa Code section 724.30 (1995). Defendant claims the State failed to establish an essential element of the offense, and that he received ineffective assistance of counsel. We affirm.
