This action was commenced on October 26,1976 to recover a balance allegedly owed to the plaintiff, Household Finance Corporation (“HFC”), on a promissory note executed by the defendants on May 25, 1973. Defendants filed an answer which alleged numerous violations of the Federal Consumer Credit Protection Act, also known as the Truth-In-Lending Act (“TILA”), 15 U.S.C. § 1601 et seq. The Act contains provisions requiring lenders to make certain credit disclosures to borrowers.
