This action of trespass on the case for negligence was tried before a justice of the superior court sitting with a jury, and at the close of the evidence he granted defendants’ motion for a directed verdict. The case is before us on plaintiff’s exception to that ruling.

The defendants, husband and wife, were the owners and occupants of premises at 495 Lloyd avenue, in the city of Providence.
