Adrian Boyd (Boyd) appeals as a matter of right from a judgment of the Hart Circuit Court convicting him of burglary in *129the first degree, assault in the fourth degree, and for being a pérsisteht felony offender in the first degree and sentencing him to a total of twenty years’ imprisonment.
