There was an accident at a railroad crossing in Chambersburg. A car stopped on the track and was hit by *624a train. Among those to respond was Patrolman Chris L. Haldeman of the Chambersburg Police Department. Haldeman arrived after an ambulance and another cruiser had reached the scene. Haldeman came down a street at a high rate of speed, attempted to enter a store parking lot, overshot the entrance, hit the curb with the cruiser, blowing out a front tire, skidded into a pole, and then fishtailed on the parking lot three or four car-lengths before coming to a stop.
